About this work

Depiction of the events surrounding the murder of the brothers Johan and Cornelis de Witt. At the top of the image the portraits of Johan and Cornelis de Witt are included. Details in the image are indicated by letters which are explained in the Aenwijsinge below. Below the image a description of the events over three columns. Thereunder, on both sides of the legend, two verses on Johan de Witt and a verse on Cornelis de Witt justifying the murders.
