About this work

The proclamation of the Truce. The peace concluded on 9 April in The Hague is announced and read aloud to the public on the Grote Markt from a podium set up against the facade of the Antwerp Town Hall, 14 April 1609. To the left and right scaffolding with burning tar barrels. Below the representation a printed text in two columns with a description in Dutch.
