About this work
The investiture of Maurice with the Order of the Garter, 4 February 1613. Maurice receives the garter from a herald in the Great Hall of the Binnenhof in The Hague, in the presence of the English ambassador, Johan van Oldenbarnevelt, the members of the States-General, and many other guests. In the inscription, the legend A-R in Dutch.
