About this work
The two Blokhuizen in the Amstel outside Amsterdam, built in 1651 to defend the city after the failed attack by Willem II on Amsterdam on 30 July 1650. To the left and right of the Blokhuizen two hameien, the predecessors of the later city gates. On the water various small boats, with swimming children. At the top a shell ornament with both sides of a medal struck in 1650. With French title.
