About this work

Satirical print on the Bishop of Münster following the Republic's signing of peace with England on 19 February 1674 and the capture of Prince von Fürstenberg on 16 February 1674. The bishop, seated in a fool's chair with bells on his mitre, dreams surrounded by various fools and madmen. To the left, princes mourn beside a globe. In the background stands a statue of Eternal Peace. Accompanied by a satirical poem in four columns.
