About this work

Naval battle at Beachy Head (near Béveziers) in which a combined English and Dutch fleet is defeated by the French, 10 July 1690. At the top, portraits of King William III, on the left the English admiral Lord Herbert, and on the right the French admiral. On the print, this admiral is indicated as Marquis de Previlly, but it likely refers to the Marquis de Châteaurenault or Anne-Hilarion de Tourville. Below the print on the sheet, in four columns, a description and legends 1-39 and A-H.
