About this work

Alleged death of King William III struck by lightning as the Scourge of God during the Battle of the Boyne on 11 July 1690. On the ground lies the already fallen Duke of Schomberg. On the right, dancing and drinking Frenchmen who rejoice in the death of the king. In the inscription, four verses in French.
