Allegory on the restoration of the true religion in England with the arrival of the Prince of Orange, 1688. Allegory in which a Roman general, William III, accompanied by the Dutch Lion, hands a sealed Bible to the English Maid, lying alone in bed, abandoned by her lord and master. At the foot of the bed, the English lord and burgher kneel. In the sky, the angel of God's vengeance with lightning bolts and a trumpet, and the enthroned Truth. In the foreground, two female figures sitting on either side of a frieze with a representation of Hercules crowned. On the back of the sheet, a printed explanation is pasted. The print includes a text sheet.
