About this work
Caricature on the loss of Menen and the arrival of the Duke of Vendôme from Italy to Brabant, 1706. Carremans, the commander at Menen, standing on a tower laments the surrender of the city on 22 August 1706. Vendôme in a war chariot drawn by French roosters. With verses in Dutch in the print and long verses in Dutch and French on the sheet printed on both sides of the print. Part of a series of 19 caricatures on the French and allies from the year 1706.
