About this work

Satirical print on French peasant soldiers who flee to the latrine when it comes to fighting. Standing French peasant with flail and winnowing fan, behind him a peasant blows a horn with a scythe. In the caption a verse of two times four lines in Dutch. Verses printed in French and Dutch on the sheet below and beside the plate. Part of a series of 19 satirical prints on the French and their allies from the year 1706.
