Collection volume in which the first ten parts of the print work are bound together: Les Forces de l'Europe, Asie, Afrique et Amerique ... Comme aussi les Cartes des Côtes de France et d'Espagne. Enlarged reissue of the album by Pieter Mortier from ca. 1702 now compiled and published by Pieter van der Aa in two parts in 1726. In a leather book binding with the title on the spine. The 238 plates in this first part are numbered by hand 1-238. For the most part these plates are copied from the anonymous French plates of famous strong cities and fortresses: in Les forces de l'Europe and in: Le theatre de la guerre, dans les Pays-Bas, both originally published by Nicolas de Fer in Paris (1693-1697) in the context of the Nine Years' War. Many new plates have been added, some with depictions of events from the War of the Spanish Succession. Titles and inscriptions in French.
