About this work
Allegory on the dismissal of the eight directors of the Surgeons' Guild in Amsterdam, 24 January 1732. Meeting of the directors led by Abraham Titsingh in the guild chamber; on the left, three grinning directors walk away with money from the widows' fund. On the wall, several allegorical paintings; above the gate: Theatrum Anatomicum. In the caption, a two-line verse. The print is accompanied by a separately printed explanation of the plate.
