About this work

Sheet with three depictions of customs around Whitsun and Epiphany. Top: on Whitsun in Schermerhorn, a girl (the Whitsun Flower or Whitsun Bride) is carried around by four other girls. Bottom left: in The Hague, girls decorated with flowers go from door to door on Whitsun to collect money. Bottom right: on Epiphany Eve in Amsterdam, people go from door to door singing with the star of the Three Kings.
