About this work

The fourth sleigh in the procession. A sleigh with the personification of Liberty, with William of Orange and a knight, drawn by a horse and followed by nobles on horseback. Part of a series of twelve plates of the sleigh procession on 24 January 1776 organised by the Leiden society Veniam Pro Laude on the occasion of the Second Centenary of the Relief of Leiden (3 October 1574) and the Foundation of the University of Leiden (8 February 1575).
