Funeral of a dead salmon, 1787

Satirical print on the Count of Salm-Rheinfels. A funeral procession in which poodles carry a bier upon which a deceased salmon lies. Behind the bier, a procession of patriots marked with numbers walks. In the background on the right, a cemetery where Prussian soldiers are digging a grave for the fish. Following the departure of the Count of Salm-Rheinfels and the patriots from Utrecht upon the approach of the Prussian troops in September 1787. The print includes an explanation and a reading slip.
