About this work
The first general meeting of the Society for the Benefit of the General Public, held on 10 August in the Old Lutheran Church in Amsterdam. Interior of the church where the members have gathered for the meeting. In the middle of the four-line caption, both sides of a medal are depicted. The caption also includes the dedication on behalf of three members of the society to Jan Nieuwenhuyzen, Mennonite preacher in Monnickendam and founder of the Society.
