About this work
The Naval Battle at Kamperduin on 11 October 1797 between the Batavian fleet under the command of Vice-Admiral Jan Willem de Winter and a British fleet under Admiral Adam Duncan. The end of the battle. Centrally the Vrijheid (this ship under command of De Winter) mastless between three English ships and the Hercules where the fire is still being extinguished; further disordered Batavian ships under the English ships.
