About this work

An armored knight with a banner on horseback departs and is seen off and booed by schoolboys by a crowd. Possibly the departure of the unpopular local commander General Vauthier from Brussels or of the elderly professor P. Lesbroussart from Leuven. With French verse in four couplets.
