About this work

The prodigal son has squandered his inheritance and works as a swineherd for a farmer. He kneels by the pigs and eats with them from the trough. On the right background, the prodigal son is driven out of the brothel because his money is gone. Below the scene, a Latin reference to the Biblical text in Luke 15.
