About this work
In the temple, on the left in the foreground, Christ sits, pointing to a veiled poor widow with two of his disciples. Richly dressed people walk towards the offering box to throw in a lot of money. The widow has thrown in only two coins, but according to Christ this is more than the rich do, because she gave out of her poverty. Below the image a reference in Latin to the biblical text in Mark 12.
