About this work
The self-sacrifice of preacher Hambroeck on Formosa. After personally delivering the request for surrender from the Chinese to the Dutch commanders of Fort Zeelandia on Formosa, Hambroeck takes leave of his daughters and returns to the Chinese pirate Coxinga, 24 May 1661. In October 1661 he is murdered by the Chinese.
