About this work
Album (V) of reddish half-leather and red-marbled flat, spine with ribs and title in gold stamping. Containing 110 pasted drawings of birds in the Cape Province (and a few from Australia and elsewhere); drawn for or during four expeditions of 1777 to 1780 and of 1785-1786 by James Cook; or received from James Cook in 1780. On the front cover a paper with English text in modern handwriting about the origin. Belonging to a series of 4 volumes with different subtitles.
