About this work

Near a tree lies a completely destroyed cart; on the shaft hangs a red cloth in which Krishna was laid to sleep when the cart demon tried to kill him; his mother Yashoda picks him up while two shepherdesses look on. Around the scene, two broad red borders with a yellow inner border containing red and white flowers and green leafy vines; damage on the decorative border; the sheet is mounted on a backing paper.
