About this work
A mighty warrior, armed with two huge swords, successfully fights several adversaries. The scene possibly depicts Babhruvahana fighting the troops of his father, Arjuna, a story from the Jaimini Asvamedha of the Marathi author Sridhara (c. 1678-1730). The 'fish-scale' way, in which the mounted warriors are depicted, is a common device used by the chitrakatha-artists to suggest crowds.
