About this work

Chameleon. Name in three languages on the left. Part of the seventh album with drawings of reptiles, amphibians and natural history ensembles. Seventh of twelve albums with watercolours of animals, birds and plants known around 1600, made on commission of Emperor Rudolf II. With explanations in Dutch, Latin and French.
