About this work
Triptych with on the central panel Mary seated with the Christ Child on her lap in the walled courtyard of a castle. Foreground two sibyls with a book and a flower basket, left rear three singing angels, right Joseph. In the air a vision in a halo of God seated at a tabernacle containing a retable with the instruments of the Passion or Arma Christi. On the left side panel the kneeling founder with Saint Martin (Saint Maarten), on the right side panel the kneeling foundress with Saint Cunera. The side panels show the Annunciation in grisaille when closed.
