Portrait of Willem Arnold Alting (1724–1800), Governor-General (1780–97). Half-length, standing facing right. Command staff in the right hand; in the left hand, he holds a portfolio from a table on which lie several books, documents, and a globe. Painted on a copper plate, originally used as a printing plate for textiles. Part of a series of portraits of the Governor-Generals of former Dutch East Indies.
