About this work
Gilded frame in Empire style. The profile of the frame is composed successively of an inner border with an ox-tongue motif, a cove lying between two flat steps without decoration, a cove with alternating, stylized palmettes and honeysuckle motifs executed in pâte, and a flat crown. The corners are joined mitred by means of tapering dovetail keys.
