About this work

Lid of an egg-shaped lidded pot of porcelain, painted in underglaze blue. Covered with 'crackled ice' with carved-out lotus tendrils and pearls. Originating from the 'Hatcher junk' which sank around 1645. A chip in the lid. Transitional porcelain in blue and white.
