About this work

Bell-shaped bowl of porcelain, covered with a yellow glaze and painted in red and black. The outside of the bowl is covered with a yellow glaze with here cut out in grey tones a bird on a branch with flowering wisteria; on the rim the seal mark of Empress Regent Cixi with the inscription 'Tiandi yijia chun', 'Heaven and earth celebrate spring as a family', next to the seal three characters reading 'Daya zhai', 'the studio of high culture'. Marked on the underside with a four-character mark 'yongqing changchun', 'eternal happiness and continuous spring'. Porcelain with enamel colors.
