About this work
Soup plate of porcelain, painted on the glaze in blue, red, pink, green, turquoise, purple, black and gold. On the flat surface, lucky symbols: a flower vase on a stool, scrolls on a bench with stylized lotuses, a lotus stem and books and incense burner on a table; the wall with branches of prunus and peony; the rim with lacework with cut-out linked cartouches with lotus scrolls against a background of 'frog spawn' and attributes of the Eight Immortals (castanets, sword, fan, flower basket, percussion instrument, flute); the back with three mushrooms (lingzhi). Famille rose.
