About this work

Porcelain soup plate, painted on the glaze in blue, red, pink, green, turquoise, purple, black and gold. On the flat center symbols of good fortune: a flower vase on a stool, scrolls on a bench with stylized lotuses, a lotus stem and books and a censer on a table; the wall with prunus and peony branches; the rim with lacework with punched linked cartouches containing lotus scrolls against a background of 'frog spawn' and attributes of the Eight Immortals (castanets, sword, fan, flower basket, percussion instrument, flute); the back with three mushrooms (lingzhi). A crack in the rim. Famille rose.
