About this work

Bell-shaped cup and saucer of porcelain, painted on the glaze in blue, red, pink, green, black and gold. On the base the coat of arms of the family Edwards with a blue lion on a white background with black characters; in the left corner a quarter with an eagle. The crest is also a blue lion, surrounded by acanthus leaves. Under the coat of arms a scroll with the inscription 'IN CAELO QUIES', 'rest comes in heaven'. On the inner rim a spearhead border. The cup with the same decoration. Old label on the underside with 'Edwards of Iyrington, Norfolk'. Some chips in the rim of the saucer. Coat-of-arms porcelain with enamels.
