About this work

Egg-shaped porcelain pot with lid, painted on the glaze in blue, red, green, yellow, aubergine, and black. The pot is decorated with three compartments in the shape of a lobed rhombus containing a peony surrounded by stylized vines; between the three compartments a ruyi motif and flower branches. An ornamental band around the foot; a band with ruyi motifs around the shoulder. On the lid a stylized peony with branches and straw flowers. A crack in the lid. Famille verte.
