About this work

Egg-shaped lidded porcelain pot, painted on the glaze in blue, red, green, yellow, aubergine and black with flowers and stylised vines. The pot is decorated with three compartments in the form of a lobed diamond with a peony rose surrounded by stylised vines within; between the three compartments a ruyi motif and flower branches. Around the foot an ornamental band; around the shoulder a band with ruyi motifs. On the lid a stylised peony rose with branches and straw flowers. The lid is undecorated. Famille verte.
