About this work
Bell-shaped porcelain bowl, painted in underglaze blue. The wall of the bowl is pierced with five recessed medallions. In four medallions, two modeled and gilded figures each, the Eight Immortals; the last medallion with a representation of Shoulao. The underside of the wall and the outer rim with a band of flower scrolls in low relief. The underside is unglazed. Several chips in the rim; a crack in the wall. Gilding likely of later date and added in Europe. Ming porcelain in blue and white.
