About this work

Porcelain dish painted in underglaze blue. On the flat of the dish a seated woman (long-lipped) and a dancing boy (fool) in an enclosed garden with rocks and a tree; the rim with treasures (scroll, pearl, rhombus, mugwort leaf, horn) and a Taoist symbol (castanets); the reverse with symbols of good fortune (pearl, rhombus). Marked on the underside with the four-character mark of Emperor Chenghua. Blue and white.
