About this work

Bell-shaped porcelain bowl, painted in underglaze blue. On the outside of the bowl four compartments separated by a thin line with narrative scenes, with two or three persons, men and women, on a terrace in front of a pavilion; on the bottom three playing boys (clowns) in an enclosed garden; the inner rim with lacework. Marked on the underside with the six-character mark of Emperor Kangxi in a double circle. Wall has been broken. Blue and white.
