About this work
Egg-shaped lidded jar of porcelain with ribbed wall, painted in underglaze blue. In the ribbed wall four medallions are cut out with therein a woman (long eyebrows) in an enclosed garden before a pavilion with trees and rocks; around the foot and shoulder a band with flower branches (carnation, peony, camellia). Marked on the underside with the six-character mark of Emperor Chenghua in a double circle. Blue and white.
