About this work
Porcelain plate, painted in underglaze blue and on the glaze in red and gold. On the flat surface, a medallion with a draped cloth decorated with leafy vines; next to it, flowering plants (prunus, hydrangea, and lotus seeds). On the rim, two flying hoopoe birds surrounded by flowering branches (peony, chrysanthemum). Between the birds, two cartouches with floral vines. The outer wall has three flowering branches (chrysanthemum, prunus). Five thick proenings on the underside. Imari.
