About this work
The boy Phaethon kneels before his mother Clymene; he complains to her that Epaphus has questioned his divine origin. Clymene points to the sky and emphasizes that the sun god is indeed his father. She advises Phaethon to seek out his father. Below the image, two pairs of Latin verses. The print is part of an album.
