About this work
Depiction of the first story that the crow Cornix tells the white raven Corvus. Cornix sees from a tree that the three daughters of Cecrops open a woven basket that Minerva had entrusted to them without them being allowed to look at the contents. In the basket Erichthonius, a baby with a snake's tail. After Cornix has told Minerva this, she is rejected by her. Below the image, two times two lines of verse in Latin. The print is part of an album.
