About this work

Man in green frock coat. According to the accompanying text, the color of the frock coat is 'vert Dragon' and it is adorned with silk embroidery in 'vert pomme'. Under the habit a silk gilet with embroidery. Silk stockings. Silk stockings and shoes with oval gold buckles. Gold garter holders. In each vest pocket a watch. On one watch hangs a simple black cord with a large key, on the other a gold chain with breloques. Large cravat of muslin wound three times around the neck and knotted at the front. Cuffs and jabot of batiste. Hairstyle with a large curl on either side of the face (old-fashioned style that is making a comeback) Hair 'à la Panarge'??? Walking stick in hand. 'Chapeau à la Jockei' with black ribbon. Among young people it is fashionable to wear a gold or green galon around the 'Chapeau jockei' which is attached on the left side with a small metal buckle.
