Robe à la Turque. According to the accompanying text, the woman is dressed in a "robe à la Turque" of striped satin with a train. She wears a fichu, a bodice with three-quarter sleeves with double cuffs, a pleated collar and double cuffs, and a white satin skirt with a fringed hem. On her head a "Bonnet à la Turque": a tall cap of English gauze with a blue crêpe band, on top of which a tall tuft of lace, flowers and feathers. (The bonnet is from "demoiselle Roussaud, au coin de la rue du Théatre Francais"). Hairstyle of fine curls on the sides and long, loose curls at the back. Accessories: earrings, brooch with medallion, bracelet with medallion and diamonds. The print is part of the 24th Cahier from the series Cabinet des Modes ou les Modes Nouvelles. The series consists of 72 fashion prints, published by Buisson, Paris, 15 November 1785 – 1 November 1786. (icon to be added)
