Robe à l'anglaise. According to the accompanying text, the gown is of light pink satin and the petticoat of light white satin. Instead of a mantle, a very large shawl of white taffeta decorated with a large strip of black tulle. The shawl is draped over the chest, tied at the back (over the gown) and thus forms a belt. The two ends are decorated with a similar falbala or fringe. The hair hangs 'à la Conseillère' and has two large curls falling over the shoulders. On the hairstyle a 'casque à la Romaine' of yellow satin with three large feathers. The hat is decorated with a tuft of white tulle, which hangs from the back to the belt. 'Sabots Chinois' or Chinese slippers of yellow satin decorated with a pink falbala. The print forms part of the 8th Cahier from the series Cabinet des Modes ou les Modes Nouvelles. The series consists of 72 fashion prints, published by Buisson, Paris, 15 November 1785 - 1 November 1786.
