Soldier blowing powder from his musket (no. 20), ca. 1600

A soldier, full-length, blowing with both hands a musket (a specific type of firearm) to his mouth, to possibly get powder that has fallen outside the pan (the powder reservoir) off it (no. 20), ca. 1600. In his left hand, besides the barrel of the musket, a fork (musket fork) and a burning match. Plate 20 in the instructions for handling the musket: Corte onderrechtinghe op de figuerliicke afbeeldinghe, soo veel aengaet het recht ghebruyck vant Musquet.
