About this work

A soldier, full-length, holding a pike vertically in front of him, slightly above the ground, with both hands (no. 16), ca. 1600. This is the second movement for placing the pike on the ground. Plate 16 in the instructions for handling the pike: Corte onderwysinghe op de figuerliicke afbeeldinghe belanghende trechte gebruck, van alle t'ghene een Soldaet int handelen vande Spies noodich is.
