About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a spear (lance) upright with both hands in front of him slightly above the ground (no. 6), ca. 1600. This is the second action for lowering the spear upright to the ground. Plate 6 in the instructions for handling the spear: Corte onderwysinghe op de figuerliicke afbeeldinghe belanghende trechte gebruck, van alle t'ghene een Soldaet int handelen vande Spies noodich is.
