A soldier, full-length, facing right, with a caliver (a specific type of firearm) resting on his left shoulder. In his left hand, besides the stock of the caliver, he holds a lit match (no. 33), ca. 1600. This is the same position as the one shown in the first print of the series. Plate 33 in the instructions for handling the caliver: Shorte instruction upon the contrefaictinges, touching the right use of calivers.
