A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a specific type of firearm) with his right hand, the barrel pointing upwards (no. 4), ca. 1600. In his outstretched left hand he holds a lit match and a fork (musket fork), on which he can place his weapon. Plate 4 in the instructions for handling the musket: Brief enseignement, sur les pourtraitz figurez, touchant le droit maniement du Mousquet.
